We are committed to offering you a service that respects your privacy. Your personal information belongs to you, and it is unlawful for companies to buy and sell such data without the express knowledge and consent of the person to whom that data relates. Wherever possible, we avoid collecting any data that is not relevant to us providing you with our service.
If you have any questions about any of our terms or you have concerns about our use of your personal information, please email us and we’ll try to help: Shaun Levitan (information officer), shaun@flowsave.app, Unit 16b 3rd Floor3 Melrose Boulevard, Melrose ArchJohannesburg 2196, South Africa, +27 82 330 0796 .
If you choose to use our service, then you agree to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this policy, as well as all of the other terms described in our Terms of Service. The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service.
Please note that we may review and update this Policy from time to time. The latest version of this Policy is available on request.
We’ve explicitly designed Flow so that it does not collect any of your personal information beyond what is required for us to offer the service to you. In order to provide our service, we’ll need to store and process data about accounts that you link to the app and other data that you enter. We do need a working email address for you, but we encourage you to use the Apple "hide my email" feature, or set up a masked email address so that this piece of information cannot be tied back to you personally. We store and process all the data that you input into our app securely, and we collect only what is necessary to offer you the service.
We will never sell your personal information to a third party and it will only ever be shared with people who are directly involved in offering you the service (direct employees and contractors), our auditors and any persons lawfully entitled to the information.
Categories of Personal Information we may Process
We may process the following categories of personal information about you -
Sensitive Personal Information
Where we need to Process your Sensitive Personal Information (or so called Special Personal Information), we will do so in the ordinary course of our business, for a legitimate purpose, and in accordance with applicable law.
International Transfer of Personal Information
We may transfer your Personal Information to recipients outside of the Republic of South Africa.
Personal Information may be transferred outside of the Republic of South Africa provided that the country to which the data is transferred has adopted a law that provides for an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, the Operator/third party undertakes to protect the Personal Information in line with applicable data protection legislation and the transfer is necessary in order to deliver the services that we provide to you via Flow.
The app does rely on third party services that may collect information used to identify you. Here are links to the privacy policies of those third party service providers:
It’s your responsibility to keep your phone and access to the app secure. We therefore recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, which is the process of removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. It could make your phone vulnerable to malware/viruses/malicious programs, compromise your phone’s security features and it could mean that the Flow app won’t work properly or at all.
This app needs an internet connection to work, and you are responsible for those costs. You should be aware that there are certain things that will not take responsibility for. Certain functions of the app will require the app to have an active internet connection. The connection can be Wi-Fi, or provided by your mobile network provider, but we cannot take responsibility for the app not working at full functionality if you have any data troubles (for instance, if you run out of data).
If you’re using the app outside of an area with Wi-Fi, you should remember that your terms of the agreement with your mobile network provider will still apply. As a result, you may be charged by your mobile provider for the cost of data for the duration of the connection while accessing the app, or other third party charges. In using the app, you’re accepting responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the app outside of your home territory (i.e. region or country) without turning off data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you’re using the app, please be aware that we assume that you have received permission from the bill payer for using the app.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information that is in our possession against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, unauthorised access, in accordance with applicable law.
Where there are reasonable grounds to believe that your personal information that is in our possession has been accessed or acquired by any unauthorised person, we will notify the relevant regulator and you, unless a public body responsible for detection, prevention or investigation of offenses or the relevant regulator informs us that notifying you will impede a criminal investigation.
Because the internet is an open system, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will implement all reasonable measures to protect your personal information that is in our possession, we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted using the internet and we cannot be held liable for any loss of privacy occurring during the course of such transmission.
Your Legal Rights
You may have rights under the South African and other laws to have access to your personal information and to ask us to rectify, erase and restrict use of your personal information. You may also have the right to object to your personal information being used, to ask for the transfer of personal information you have made available to us and to withdraw consent to the use of your personal information.

We may process your personal information by our use of Cookies and similar technologies.
When you visit our Website we may place Cookies onto your device, or read Cookies already on your device, subject always to obtaining your consent, where required, in accordance with applicable law. We use Cookies to record information about your device, your browser and, in some cases, your preferences and browsing habits. We may process your personal information through Cookies and similar technologies, in accordance with our Cookie policy.
By downloading the app, you’re not taking ownership of any of the intellectual property rights related to it - those still belong to us.
You’re not allowed to copy or modify the app, any part of the app, or our logos in any way. You’re not allowed to attempt to extract the source code of the app, try to reverse-engineer any of the software comprising the service, and you also must not try to translate the app into other languages, or make derivative versions.
We welcome users to contribute ideas and suggestions for improving our service. Although we will be grateful for your help, you will not be compensated or credited if we choose to implement any of these suggestions.
If you are defined as a legal minor in your country, you may only use the app with the consent and involvement of a parent or other legally competent person. We reserve the right to ask you for such information as is necessary to prove that you are 18 years or older, or that you are using the app with the consent and involvement of a parent or legally competent person.
These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa without giving effect to any principles of conflict of law. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa over any dispute about the service or these terms.
We can choose to change the terms at any time, but we promise that we will alert you if we do, over email, at least 15 days before the new terms become effective.
